I am so cranky, my friends. I am so cranky that the amount of crankiness I am experiencing cannot be quantified by human definitions. Anyone who doesn't believe in PMS seriously needs to shut the fuck up. As do a lot of other people, but if I got into that, I'd be here all day. Did I mention that I'm cranky?

Thankfully, I thought Gilmore Girls tonight was soooooo good. And I was pleased to see that Gina Fattore has signed on as an exec producer. And [livejournal.com profile] em_meredith may be the only person reading this who understands why, but that's okay. The dialogue was excellent. Some of the funny parts were SO funny I had trouble stopping my laughter. I don't know why I found that Sookie/Michel arm wrestling so funny, but I really did. And the racquetball, OMG. Hilarity. Everyone sounded like themselves, and even the townies were used wisely. The Luke/Lorelai ending broke my heart, but kind of in a good way. I know they will get back together eventually and at least what they did tonight felt real and hurtful and true instead of a lot of the bullshit last season. I'm along for the ride and willing to see where this goes. Good job, Mr. Rosenthal! Keep it up.

Also finally watched Flavor of Love but don't know how much point there is in talking about it with [livejournal.com profile] intopolitics on hiatus. *sniffle* Suffice to say New York sex sounds is the last thing I ever needed to hear in my life.

Who watched GH today? Can we talk about how adorable Dillon was with the haircut and glasses? Scratch that, can we talk about how HOT he was with the haircut and glasses? I've met Scott Clifton, by the way, wanna see? Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Anyhoo, next question: how hot was Lulu's college counselor? I hope he sticks around for a little while. But where are Robin and Patrick? I am going through Scrubs withdrawal.

[livejournal.com profile] croberson alerts me to the fact that the creator of Heroes admits he never read comic books, and never read much of anything, for that matter. Charming. So much for the show having true geek cred, eh? It killed in the ratings, though.

I am not happy about the Studio 60 ratings but I am trying not to dwell on it because I am stressed out enough as it is. I am also doing my best not to become too emotionally attached, which is not too difficult when you're as emotionally stunted as I am. Nonetheless, I've already made a new icon, one which feels depressingly appropriate.

I watched part of GH and yes, Scott Clifton was completely adorable all geeked up. Much better than his look recently, which sort of looked like he had a rodent on his head. :-/

Yeah, I mean, his hair has always been kind of crazy, but lately it's just been ridiculous. I have no doubts he will revert back to his filmmaker passion soon, but I'm kind of hoping he keeps the business hair. And I can't help but think that means I'm old. *g*

I join you in your emo about the ratings.

You know what I keep thinking about Heroes? That it's like, when you pick up that ashcan of some 'new superhero series' by some sixteen year olds who have their first imprint. And it's like, there's the one with more wangst than Batman and the one with more power than God, and... it's part one of a hundred gabillion.

And then the next issue never comes out because the artist loses his virginity.

New York sex sounds? Dear god, I'm glad I missed that.

Yes on the Luke/Lorelai stuff. It was a good, honest kind of hurt that they made me have. I'm quite optimistic about the season. Hurrah!

It was...something. They were in Flav's hotel room and the door was closed but the camera was outside and she was making these weird noises, and then they kept cutting to a confessional where New York talked about how they "took" each other....it was horrific. OMG.

And people scoffed at me when I worried about Studio 60 going up against Monday Night Football! I knew that that would be bad news for the ratings, sigh.

Dillon was cute today, but I found that whole storyline irritating. I'm finding Dillon irritating right now (but loving Georgie, which is new for me). I am still in shock that GH actually let a character have an abortion, though. I'm also totally missing Patrick and Robin, they need to come back to prominence again soon, but I'm liking all of the Liz stuff, since I've always liked her.

You're right, GG was really good tonight, which makes me very happy. Lauren Graham rocked, and you're right that that last scene was so so sad but in a very well written way. Man, poor Lorelai.

They need to bring my sweet funny Dillon back stat. And word about the abortion. I actually sent ABC a thank you letter through their website, since I feel positive reinforcement is important. :D

I'm not counting my chickens before they're hatched: I'm just waiting for for Lulu to have an enormous breakdown and be catatonic like her mother because of her abortion. The interesting thing to me is that I read absolutely nothing in the press about it (and I googled, believe me): I was thinking that there would be a big backlash, and I didn't see one.

I watched GH and second your Dillon and CollegeProfessor hotness. He was actually supposed to be a professor, not a counselor I think. It really made no sense. But I guess it made more sense than most of what goes on around there.

I missed the first part of Gilmore Girls because it was so bad at the end of last year that I put no effort into remembering it was on tonight. I started watching when Lorelai said she doesn't want to talk about Luke and they started talking about Sports. I loved all that totally random stuff about raquetball. And the Spatula. Anything involving a spatula has to be good. I think my favorite part was the car going through Luke's. I don't know much about it, but it seems like the new writer over there is trying to copy the old style, instead of trying to chance it to fit his own style (ahem, johnwells). So far so good.

What made the least amount of sense was that office he had. LOLOLOL. Yeah, that was your typical low-level professor's office at a small college. Heeeeeeeee.

I have to add... when Rory was telling the stupid Rocket story, Lauren Graham was doing amazing things with her facial expressions. I wish I had it on tivo/tape.

I am tying myself up in knots and I keep promising that I not going to look at that Psycho board, but it is like bad crack! The nitpicking that is going on. I'm a bit concerned about the ratings but... then again... there have been shows that start weaker in the first few eps but gain strength as the cast becomes one etc... we need to take a deep breath and give it time!

But where are Robin and Patrick? I am going through Scrubs withdrawal.

Word around the rumor mill is that they were on track for a big storyline, and it got pulled at the last second and reassigned to other characters. I can't tell based on what little I read *who* got the storyline, but as there have been rumors of a Scrubs baby for a while, I suspect it's Lulu and Dillon.

What-ever. Good to know the asshattery is still rampant over there. :P

I found myself laughing throughout GG. The Palladinos have left it in good hands with Rosenthal.

The creator of Heroes may not be comic geek, but as long as Jeph Loeb is a co-exec and writer on the show they've got all the comic cred they need.

people actually talked to each other!

That's a good point. There was communication instead of everyone being in their own little bubble of self-pity. SO over that.

I really think both Luke and Lorelai are at fault, here, and they both have a lot of work to do, especially considering the ridiculousness the Palladinos inflicted upon them. I am optimistic, though. :)

You're emotionally stunted? I thought you were just shy. *g*

Studio 60 has a crap time slot, I hope they can overcome that.

I don't know why I found that Sookie/Michel arm wrestling so funny, but I really did.

Heh, me too! There are some things I'll miss about the Palladinos, but their renditions of both Sookie and Michel of late are not on that list. It was really nice to see them be funny and not just ridiculously noisy, which is not the same thing. I've missed Sookie being a person. Anyway: arm-wrestling=funny.

I thought the tone was just a little off--not enough to bug, just enough to notice--but he basically made up for that with his Rory voice. I've never been a Rory-hater, but it's been awhile since she's been so charming and smart and funny (Hee. Evel Knievel.). That was a nice surprise. So, yes. Welcome, DSR.

Yes, it was real Sookie, and that was such a delight that I'd forgotten how much I missed her.

You must always talk about Flavor of Love. I just made that a rule. It's kind of interesting having New York back - I mean *everyone* knows her game, and she knows that, so the reactions of all parties involved seem less dramatic...or something. I can't explain it.

Oh, but next week! Dia, the kids! All six of them and his two grandkids. *excited* Not to mention Mama!NewYork. Cracktastic.

Yeah, there's no good Pumkin-type nemesis.

The kids AND the baby mamas show up, it looks like. I cannot wait.

Maybe I'll start watching again...*g*
