tv and stuff
Jan. 25th, 2007 12:30 amI've been getting home late this week and there's all this TV to watch and I have a ton of e-mails to answer...if you're reading this and I owe you e-mail (not to mention LJ comments), sorry.
( Gilmore Girls )
( Beauty and the Geek ) Best line, which I must share with you all: "I would say I'm as fit as a bottle of spoiled milk, because I'm chunky and white."
( I Love New York ) Choice quote: "I heard that Whiteboy had a death in the family and it made me want to give Whiteboy my bosom."
Not much to say about the Oscar noms -- the Emmys are the only awards where I really have a vocal opinion. *g* A lot of the nominations were surprising, though (particularly Little Miss Sunshine, which was a fun movie, but...Best Picture?). Also, the Jennifer Hudson stuff kind of makes me crazy because I don't think her actual acting in the movie is anything to write home about. She just delivered some great musical performances. But musical performances do not equal acting, to me. Oh, wait, I just remembered all the noms that Chicago got; the Academy totally does think that good musical performances equal good acting. ;) Otherwise: meh.
Great piece in the New York Times questioning the new stricter Chinese adoption laws.
And while I'm over at the Times, their editorial on the State of the Union says it all for me. (I'm not surprised it's one of the most e-mailed articles on the site right now.) I wish their reporting was as cogent as their editorials.
By the way, if you missed Jim Webb's Democratic response like I did, it's here on YouTube.
I really need to go to bed now.
